Hi guys, I want to play COD4, upcoming left for dead 2 and other new games on my laptop, but my current video card would not be qualified to play those games. I had an idea of using a external video card, can you recommend any of those external video cards?
btw i also heard about the asus xg station, but isn’t it that you need to connect it to a another monitor then to your laptop for it to work? What i need is just a external video card for my laptop plain and simple. Plug and play

The only external graphics device available is the Asus XG Station and yeah, it uses an external monitor. Even the new ATI XGP external graphics design that interfaces on a proprietary PCIe 2.0 connector also uses an external monitor.

The Express card slot on laptops is too small to house a powerful/standalone graphics card, thus there are no external graphics card that could boost the internal graphics. And the slot’s speed is just comparable to x1PCIe, not spectacular really.
If gaming is a top consideration, it is really best and cost efficient to buy a laptop w/ decent graphics capability than to consider costly upgrades on a business or entertainment laptop.
