Archive for 'dual monitor video card'

This is a video requested by CrazyEskimo1212, wondering how a dual monitor setup is possible with a desktop computer. Note: I built my desktop myself so if you want to do this with a manufacturer computer (dell, hp, etc.) you have to make sure the onboard video supports using two display ports at once or make sure it has a videocard with two ports on it. The monitors I have are an HP w1907 and an Acer X193w.

I have an ATI video card that has a standard video port and a DVI port. I have two monitors plugged into it to use a dual monitors. I happen to now have a spare flat screen monitor and was wondering if I could plug it in to the video port on my motherboard (which is currently not being used) and then have a 3rd monitor up in running. Can Vista support a 3rd monitor?

The motherboard’s onboard video port is usually disabled if you have an add-on video card inserted into an expansion slot. I don’t think that will work.

No harm in trying though, so give it a shot and see what happens.
